⚠️ URGENT: UAE Residency Grace Period Ends TOMORROW — March 31

If you are an Indian NRI currently outside the UAE with an expired residency permit — you need to act today.

The UAE’s General Directorate of Customs and Ports Security allowed residents who had their visas expire from on or after February 28, 2026, to come back into the country (without needing a new visa) through a one month grace period until March 31, 2026.

This was primarily due to the Iran – US conflict causing mass airspace closures/flight cancellations making it difficult for some residents to get back to the UAE.

When this grace period ends on March 31, 2026; If your residency permit has expired prior to coming back into the UAE you are required to go through the entire new visa application process, which is both time consuming and expensive.

What this means for Indian NRIs:

✅ Who qualifies: Residents outside the UAE whose residency permit expired on or after February 28, 2026 and who were unable to return due to airspace closures or flight suspensions.

✅ What you can do: Return to the UAE before midnight on March 31 without applying for a new visa — your original permit is still accepted at the border.

❌ What happens after March 31: You will need to apply for a new residency visa through the standard process before re-entering.
